NOTICE TO EMPLOYERS

New procedure for a disability claim

We wish to inform you of the new procedure regarding a disability claim which has been in effect since September 21, 2026.

It goes without saying that when you have an employee on sick leave, you must record it on your report and they should not pay any insurance premiums. If they have paid premiums in error, they will not be reimbursed, but these amounts will be accumulated in their bank account.

Please notify us when you have an employee on sick leave with CNESST benefits, along with a doctor's note. Each month during this leave, we must receive a CNESST payment notice from your employee to maintain their leave. We must also be informed when they return to work. It is also preferable that they also submit a claim to Desjardins, because if the CNESST decides to stop benefits, Desjardins may take over, and the subsequent process will be faster.

If the claim is with Desjardins , you must inform us by email, completing the form "Disability Insurance or Premium Waiver – Claim for Benefits – Employer Declaration," at the following address: vcharest@comiteconjoint.com . You will no longer be responsible for submitting this document to Desjardins; Véronique Charest will be responsible for doing so . Once the employee has received their return date, you will need to complete the "Notice of Return to Work" form. They must inform Desjardins of their return date no later than the same day. Since their work schedule is Tuesday to Friday at noon, it is important that you inform them as soon as possible .

The employee's section must now be completed from their online file or the Omni app. The doctor no longer needs to fill out a form, but the employee must submit the sick leave request that the doctor will have given them.

Advise the employee that he/she must also apply to the employment, unemployment and sickness insurance .

You have 30 days from the date of the event to submit your request to Desjardins.
